Every people has their own way of thinking, communicating and expressing what actually is going on them. The course book teaches us to think critically and I want to relate it with think from different perspectives. Is it what we require when handling demanding clients or arguable friends or complaining second parties?
Client: I need it now!, I don't pay more!, Deliver to my criteria!, I don't listen to you!

The one who is complaining or demanding may not know how the problem has created. My experience of dealing with the clients shows that they dont bother to be empathetic with the service provider. In the hand of service provider is two way, think critically as well as be empathetic. Linehan 1993, described that there are wise mind as well reasonable mind. Our emotional mind swings instantly, for instance, when we are appreciated we are happy but opposite treatment makes us feel sad. Reasonable mind makes us happy when we get chance to hear the truth despite the short term conflicts or argue. Emotional mind can be made stronger with the inclusion of empathy meanwhile thinking from different perspectives combined with reasonable mindset tends to create synergy.
Balancing these two aspects is a great deal of helping self. When people began to argue, just listen them. In your part , you require to be positive until you have next person that can handle the situation if worsen with the communication between the first two.
And, as a business manager we need to keep record of this learning which can help us to take future decisions.
Managers will surely be appreciated when we can make better use of soft skills. Different soft skills include verbal and non-verbal communication, critical thinking, listening, team work, persuasion, intercultural awareness, presentation skills.

Conclusion is that it requires people to think for different perspectives. Different perspectives is acquired when we give time for self learning and self development.
